Facebook Timeline Layout Explained
This is just a larger version of the image on the previous page. Here is a list of important features:
Cover Image – 851 x 315 px
Profile Picture – 180 x 180 px
About Section – General info
Views & Apps Section – Photos always first; up to 12 Apps visible to users via drop down
App Thumbnail – 111 x 74 px
Composer – Publish posts, photos, questions and Milestones
Weekly Pinned Post – “Feature” posts each week. Marked by an orange ribbon in the upper right, these post can be “pinned to the top” and will automatically revert to a normal post after 7 days
Friends Activity – Displays friends who like this page, their activity
Post Image Size – For a normal post, the maximum size is 403 pixels
wide. Height will scale proportionally and max out at 403 pixels high
Max Image Size – When content has been “Starred” (set as a Highlight) or set as a Milestone, the image will scale to a Max Size of 843 x 403 px. Make sure to use images of this size to avoid smaller images getting distorted or “pixelated”
Full Width Posts – Milestones, “Starred” aka Highlighted Posts can
extend to the full width
Apps and Landing Pages – Additional pages built are set to 810 px wide. Previously built pages at 520 px will center on the page
