How to Add Your Google+ Profile to Your Website or Blog

Just got started with Google+ and was wondering if I could install a a profile on my website. I know that there are google+ badges available, but I wanted something a little more personalized. I found this widget that is pretty cool.

1) Get your Google+ ID

  1. Go to https://plus.google.com/ and click on your name.
  2. In the address bar you’ll see a long url that contains a string of numbers, which is your Google+ ID>
    It looks like this: https://plus.google.com/108222825629200048618/posts
  3. Copy the numbers in red

2)  Get Your Google+ Widget

  1. Visit widgetplus.com
  2. google+ profile widget for your website or blogPaste your Google+ ID in the box.
  3. Configure the settings. There are several options like:
    • Basic – Id, width, font, feed, language
    • Main area – colors of box
    • Title
    • Name colors, size
    • Button settings
    • Bottom Text which shows your circle status
Tip: if you’re just getting started and don’t have big numbers, you can hide your number by setting the text color the same as the background color you’ll find in the Main area setting
  4. Click the Get Code button, which will then render your widget. Make any changes you want to the config settings then copy the code.google+ widget configuration

3) Copy the Google+ Code to Your Website or Blog

I’m using WordPress and I’m sure there will be a plugin, if there’s not already, but I’ll use a text widget (just paste code) to display on my sidebar.

I hope this was helpful for you to improve your Google+ profile and to increase your exposure. Make sure to add me to your circles and I’ll definitely return the favor.
